How to clean a wall or just Paint it
April 5th, 2009Ever tried to paint a wall before cleaning it ?
I have and you need to wash the
walls before painting them, also fill any holes with plaster filler then sand the plaster repairs down with a suitable grade of paper,
Rough surfaces use “coarse” paper (60 or 80 grade).
General preparation use “medium” paper (120 grade).
Sanding between coats use “fine” paper (180 grade) and wipe the surface with a damp rag ( use cotton or a old towel) to remove all traces of dust.
Then use a vacuum around the cornices and trims to remove dust and dirt.
To clean the wall i just use soapy water (sugar soap) you can buy that cheap from any hardware store, i then use a old broom in the bucket of solution do a small area then i use a squeegee using a down motion on the walls this will clean and dry the walls ready to paint, if you clean the walls you might not even need to paint them.
about a joke i remember when Ebay was free to list stuff and such, so i decided to not give up i have heard there is other sites around, i looked up on Google and found
